Travel is my favorite pastime. Places I've been:
|
Europe: Portugal, Spain, France, Italy,
Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands,
Denmark, Norway, Sweden, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Monaco |
|
South Pacific: Australia (east coast), New
Zealand |
|
Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar () |
|
|
Future Destinations: Peru, China, Thailand,
Tibet, Japan, Russia, Greece, Egypt, Cuba, Israel, Antarctica, Alaska |
|
Theatre: While living in NYC, I frequently saw
Broadway shows. Some of my favorites: Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Les
Miserables, 1776, Turandot |
|
Books: When I was young, I read a lot; though until
the last few years I never found the time or interest to read. Since then
I've been reading on a variety of subjects from biographies about Winston
Churchill to birth order dynamics. I also read some fiction; however, I've
found that history to be much more interesting; though it's much less
believable. |
Here, I'm at the top of Camelback Mountain in Phoenix,
Arizona. I enjoy hiking, snowboarding/skiing, roller blading and,
generally speaking, just being outdoors. |

This picture is from the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. It is
located in Tanzania near the equator. And at 19,860 feet, it's Africa's
highest peak.
It takes five very long days to reach the summit and back. I'm glad I
can mark that off my list of things to do in my life.

San Diego, July 1996. Here I learned how to
sail with my friend Mark Sunday. It was very dangerous with me on
board. Luckily, no one lost an eye. This is Mark's sail boat. |
|
Prior to working in NYC (1997 - 1998), I traveled there a
few times. |
|
In NYC I worked on a securities lending project for Chase
Manhattan Bank. My office was in the Wall Street area; about ten minutes
from where this photo was taken - the top of World Trade Tower I.
Security was tight while I was working there. I always had a sense that
if someone were to do something foolish it would happen here. |

Here are more pictures from Africa. While on
a safari to the Masai Mara we were able to experience some incredible
things. To the right is a cheetah that we saw take down a baby gazelle.
Below are some rhinos and to the lower right we were held up while a pack
of lions crossed the road. This is not a zoo; it's the real thing. I'm
within ten feet of the cheetah to the right. Incredible! () |
