| Carlie's the catalyst who started my love affair with basenjis. She joined the household at the age of 10 months. Her delightful temperament, and constant motor-mouth (who says basenjis are quiet?!), are just two of her more endearing traits. Due to her wonderful temperament, Carlie has been a demonstration dog for both 4H and Boy Scouts. She's endured having post-it notes labled with body part names stuck to the corresponding part on her body by youngsters in 4H -- her tail wagging the whole time. Carlie is pointed in the conformation ring, but much prefers the socializing at the show to the actual show itself. So, she's now retired from the show ring. She also has one leg on her Junior Courser title -- the first and only time she's ever been coursed. On March 10. 2001, Carlie had her first litter of puppies by CH Lacada's Chubby Checker.
