Funeral Dirge

Lost in your own anesthetized lucidity
Will you still clingingly obey those rules
Born in the world that now swims in senility
Governed by sinners and campaigned by fools?

This world, overwhelmed in wan morality
Still do you grasp and strain for wrong and right
This world, uncaring and cohered to insanity
Will you still ache from feeling contrite?

In the future there will be no manners
Will you yet bear through it to remain polite?
Words of forgiveness white erased from memory
Will you recollect those words and use them despite?

And when all falls apart and burns in hell
Still do you murmur a mussitated prayer
For a world you so believed could be repaired
If you quietly smiled and ignored your despair

Thus dig your own grave, close your eyes and crawl in
Hold your mind and body from the sinful urge
To join mankind and their fanatical howlings
To the world in a discordant funeral dirge
