Life: Part III
Oh! how slowly my life stalks
Upon life's monotonous walk,
Which upon so many have tread
And has left them naught but dead.
Day and night conjoin and blend
To form a twilight yet to end,
But meager words will not convey
My displeasure, waiting for the day--
I'll come to find life's walk afray:
An unfinished ledge,
And at the edge,
I know the fall
Will end it all.
Pray my soul will have more depth
Than life's pitiful lemming's death.
