The Pen is mightier than the sword...          Every author in some way portrays himself in his works, even if it be against his will. ~Goethe             Words - so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne             I hear and I forget; I see and I remember; I write and I understand. ~ Chinese Proverb             Stories are like fairy gold. The more you give away, the more you have. ~ Polly McGuire                The role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to say. ~ Anais Nin               "Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain." ~ Lily Tomlin               Most people live and die with their music still unplayed. They never dare to try. ~ Mary Kay Ash               "I'd rather be a failure at something I love than a success at something I hate." ~ George Burns

Stories

The Dream by Eireen Macleish-

This story is a very emotional one about the serious topic of incest.  The idea to write this came to me after attending "Take Back the Night," a campus rally to raise awareness of crimes against women- namely rape and sexual assault.  This story was inspired by actual events.  Rated R for content

The Song by Eireen Macleish-

This story is inspired by Ludwig Von Beethoven's life and his piece "Moonlight Sonata"  Rated G

The Chance to Say Goodbye by Eireen Macleish-

This is the first complete Quantum Leap Fan Fiction I wrote.  Sam gets a second chance to say goodbye before his first leap. Rated G

Poetry

Signals by Eireen Macleish

This poem was written in High School during a time when I thought there was chemistry between a friend of mine and I... needless to say, there wasn't any, but the poem was pretty good!  Caution: This piece is full of teenage angst!  Rated G

Lady Liberty by Eireen Macleish

This poem was written just after September 11... it was one of the ways I dealt with the tragedy and horror of that day.  Rated G
