| Eddie Stevenson. Yup Dats me. Living in Baltimore City enclave of Charles Village. It's a nice place to live but the people aren't real friendly. Oh well. For Baltimore City its's a reasonably safe place to live. Been with the same man for 17 years. Very happy with him. Also have my dog and a cat that fill out the family. I've had a profound hearing loss due to ear infections. Lost the bulk of my hearing by the time I was 25. Oddly enough I stopped having infections back in 1999 when I quit smoking. Hmmm. Too late, damage was done. Anyway, I'm on disability..I don't work. Spend my days walking the dog, playing EVERQUEST and chasing bears on The Web. YahooIM: eddie21218 MSN:barebackmd |

| Rant. Gotta have a rant. What surprised me the most about going deaf was exactly how much of a trauma it was and continues to be. Hearing accounts for only 15% of out sensory input but I'm here to tell ya, its a harsh way to live. The tinitus (head noise) can drive you to the brink too. I think the isolation is the worse. I dont make friends easily because I have a tough time communicating and the last time I used sign language was for jury duty 8 years ago. I really have nothing in common with those born deaf, and while I sign well, I suck at reading sign. |
