This story takes place in a future where computers are no longer just a screen and a keyboard you can turn on and off at will, with no harm of it interfearing in your normal life.  They are walking, talking and often beautiful computers called Persocoms, and they are everywhere.

When Hidiki moves from his family cattle farm to the big city of Tokyo, where he is about to begin cram school, he is surprised to see just how popular persocoms really are.  They seem to be involved with every aspect of normal everyday living from helping out in buisnesses, to looking after personal matters.  He is so enthrawled with the seemingly endless possibilities of owning a Persocom that he forget's one important thing : He's broke.

Of course Hidiki's luck seems to change when on his way to his new home, he finds an incredibly beautiful Persocom in the garbage.  Thinking that whoever threw it out wouldn't miss it, he brings it home with him.  Once he get's it there and manages to turn it on though, he finds something that he hadn't barganed on.  The memory of his newly aquired Persocom is damaged, it has no opperating system, and the extent of her vocabulary is "Chi!".  Fortunatly for him, it still has a learning program that can be used to teach her things of importance, and this is where the fun starts.

The bulk of this anime is Hidiki trying to teach his child-like Persocom, he fondly calls Chi, how to talk, and about daily life.  Their is quite a bit of humor as he struggles with ajusting to city life on his own, and with his own insecurities with the opposite sex.

Truthfully I would recomend this to anyone who just needs a little fluffy humour to lighten the day.  It was done with outstanding drawings and storyline that we've come to expect from the ladies of Clamp, and just to let you know, the theme music is wonderfly chosen as well.  ^_^

It has approximatly 27 episodes in the series, and no movie that I've heard of yet.  If you hear about one, please let me know!!  I would really like to see it myself!
