My Sunday School Lesson
I believed, when I was a child, that God was someone to fear,
Someone way up high, above the sky, Someone, who for me, did not care.
And when I'd done wrong, I'd worry and fret, That God would strike me down dead,
'Til one day, my Sunday School teacher, Explained, in words, I will never forget.

She said, "God is an awesome and loving Dear Father, He loves and protects us each day,
He longs to hear from His dear little children,
And answers us when we pray."
She said, "He'll forgive us, if we just ask Him,
If by chance we have strayed,
He promised that He will be with us forever, so children, be not afraid."

How happy am I now, that I know my Saviour, I love Him more every day.
He's walking beside me, He's holding my hand, and guiding me all the way.
And, If I falter, I know He'll forgive me, When down on my knees I pray,
I know God has blessed, my Sunday School teacher, for her explaination that day.
