Similarity

I stood on the sandy shoal, and listened to the breakers roll,
I knew the tide was coming in and that I'd better leave,
But I was fascinated, never thinking of the danger,
Of the waves that came and knocked me off my feet.
I was drowning in the water, when a lifeguard came and saved me,
Just in time, we made it safely to the shore,
A lesson I had quickly learned, to leave before the tide has turned,
And not to be as careless as before.
I fear sin is much the same, it will play at any game,
To lure it's victims to the snare and put them in great danger,
So we had better, be on guard, for sin has simply no regard,
And, to Satan, evil is no stranger.
We have a Saviour, who is near, as near as a whispered prayer,
When Satan shoots his evil darts, to win us,
When we're drowning in the sea of sin, just call the blessed Saviour in,
An Satan will retreat, totally disgusted.
