The Bible is a history book, It tells of days of old, There are stories of the future, The prophets had foretold. There's the story of creation, Of this world in just six days, It tells us how God rested, And blessed the seventh day. Then Noah built an ark, For God had told him it would rain, For forty days and forty nights, But his family would be saved. We read how God had parted, The red and raging sea, To let Moses lead his people, To where they would be free. It tells us that a Saviour, Would come to earth some day, As a baby in a manger, On a bed of hay, And how He would be crucified, And hung upon a cross, To save the souls of people, Who would have been lost. It tells of how He rose again, After three long days, And lives with His Heavenly Father, But will return someday. We'll hear a trumpet sound, And an angel choir sing, And everyone will bow, In worship to the King. There'll be no pain or sorrow, No tears will dim our eyes, For peace, joy, and happiness, Forever is our prize. So read the Holy Bible, There's much more to be said, And as you read the stories, Your spirit will be fed. You'll get to know the Saviour, And the love he gives, To everyone who calls on Him, He is the living bread.
