The Guardian Angel | ||||||

The fishing boats set out to sea, early in the morning, They haul their nets and bring the fish aboard. The day wears on, the work near done, And sometimes without warning, A northeast gale, blows up a major storm. The fishermen then head for home, hoping soon to be there, And as the boats come nearer to the land, There beside the lighthouse, shining bright and clear, With outstretched arms, a Guardian Angel stands. A story tells, how years ago, when the boats went out to sea, So many wives and mothers, knelt to pray, That the heart of God was touched with love, As He heard their plea, And He sent a Guardian Angel there, to stay.
