Today I heard a sad story,
Of a dear little baby that died,
I could not understand, why this happened,
My heart broke, and I cried.
I heard another sad story,
Of a mommy who died in a crash,
Leaving her dear little baby,
Crying for her to come back.
My heart ached as I heard these stories,
For the ones who were mourning their loss,
And I cried, "Dear God, help these families,
Please, help them carry their cross."
Tonight, while reading my Bible,
I read how Jesus had died,
So we may live forever,
In a mansion, in Heaven on high.
There will be a short separation,
Then we'll be together again,
Where there'll be no more tears, and no sorrow,
And parting will come to an end.
The chains of death have been broken,
For Jesus died on the cross,
To bring comfort and strength to His children,
To help us deal with each loss.
He assures us, life is not over,
And we'll see our loved ones again,
Then we'll be together forever,
With all of our family and friends.
