Ivette Maritza Sosa was born on September 15, 1976 and raised in Edison, NJ. She attended Bishop George Ahr High School and went on to earn her BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College in 1998.

Ivette has always had a passion for being on stage. She began dancing when she was just 3 years old and hasn't stopped since. She performed in many high school plays and has helped choreograph a number of plays as well. She had her sights set on Broadway and performed in plays such as 'Fiddler on the Roof,' 'Godspell,' and 'Funny Girl.' She even co-wrote 2 Broadyway Cabaret productions.

Just before she tried out to be a popstar on the WB show 'Popstars,' Ivette was in a 'West Side Story' production in Italy. She was offered a part in 'Rent' the same day she found out that she was one of the lucky 5 who made the 'Popstars' group. She chose the group instead, and went on to record a full length CD with Eden's Crush. The girls toured with such acts as NSync and Jessica Simpson and their smash single 'Get Over Yourself' was the third highest selling single of 2001. Sadly, the talented fivesome split in late 2001 due to a lack of support from their record label London-Sire.

Ivette is currently auditioning for a number of different roles. She has landed parts in several major television commercials, music videos for Sisqo and Master P, and on the Disney show 'Even Stevens.' In the spring of 2003, Ivette made her big screen debut as Gloria in the movie 'Chasing Papi.'  She has said that she would like to go back to her roots in musical theater and perform on Broadway.
