Geraint is a name found in Welsh legends, both in the Mabinogi and the the Arthurian tales.

Geraint was revived in the 19th century by Tennyson’s The Idylls of the King and also by Lady Charlotte Schreiber’s 1846 translation of the Welsh Mabingion. By the 20th century it had become common in Wales
