Indian Lake is one of the cleanest lakes in Maine and we hope to keep it that way. We ask that prospective tenants consider the fragile quality of our lake when disposing of grease, etc.. Indian Lake is almost 5 miles long and one mile across and has great fishing. The lake is shallow at our beach front and the water tends to stay warm making it ideal for swimming. A new boat landing was built in 2002 just near the beginning of the camp road so it will be very easy for you to launch your boat. The ideal size boat for Indian Lake is 16' though there are no restrictions. The islands in front of the cottage are private. Around town you will find antique shops and country auctions. Yard sales seem to run into one another on weekends. The Rolling Thunder Press is a great weekly to keep you abreast of local entertainment or activities. This is a free newspaper available at Indian Lake Market. Newport has the usual activities of a small town. You will find McDonald's , Walmart, Subway, grocery' and hardware stores. Laundry can also be done in Newport.
We are now taking reservations for the upcoming season. Rates are available upon request. We require a $350.00 security deposit for the cottage and if you wish to use our canoe there is an additional $150.00 security. There is a small rental fee of $15.00 for the canoe. Occupancy is limited to six persons and we strictly enforce this requirement. No pets or smoking are allowed in the cottage at any time. Our caretaker lives nearby if you have questions or need help with anything. |

The rental is from Sunday to Sunday. To insure your satisfaction on arrival our caretaker checks the cottage after each departure so you will be guaranteed a clean house. You must leave the cottage as you find it.
