The ACT Academy is located in a suburb of dallas. The ACT Academy recieved a 5.5 million dollar grant rebuild the old Elementary, which is now ACT, and buy state of the art computers and lap tops. It has population of 250 people, and it's K-12. So that Adverages about 30 people per grade. It is the best school I have ever been in. It's hard to get into like a private school but there is no tuition. So you could say it is an unpublic, publuic school. There is block scheduling, 4 classes a day, about 1 hour and 45 minutes each. If you are in 9-12 you can recieve a Compac Armada if you write a 1 page perposal on why you thin you should get a lap top. They are very superb I might add. The classes are laid back but strict, you have 3-4 projects per class per 9 weeks and at the end of the 9 weeks there is a portfolio that your parent/guardian must come and see for all of your classes. It is very hands on and is wonderful. Everybody is very friendly. I knew just about everybody from 5th to 12 grade in about 2 days, tops.
