| Hawaiian Calcite Location: Laie Quarry, Laie, Oahu The quarry will close for the mining of limestone by the end of year 2001. The quarry has been back filled with dirt. |

| Hawaiian Quartz Location: Kapaa Quarry, Kailua, Oahu Kapaa Quarry is the largest blue rock quarry in the state. This specimen was mined in 1998. At the time of our dig only one quartz vein visible in the quarry. |
