Construction  Photos  &  Notes    page 1
This photo shows the  bow eye installed.  I used an eye-bolt with a 1" opening.  I chose to install it at the time of the stem assembly to make it easier.  All I did was to locate it's possiton and dado a slot in the two stem halves;  this was easily done on the radial arm saw.  I applied epoxy glue to both stem halves and filled both groves.  Then placed the bolt in place and used wood screws to hold the halves together then I tightened the nut.  This way the bolt hole is sealed with epoxy for no leaks.  Also there is no guess work as how to keep a drill bit lined up and where it is going to come out on the inside.  If you don't have a radial arm saw you can still do it with a circular saw and a wood chisel.
This photo shows the keel assembly in the dolly.  I used 2" X 6" side boards cut to the shape of the keel so the bottom would have a place to lay during assembly.
Here the bottom is being assembled using screws and clamps with epoxy glue.  I chose to build up my bottom from two layers of 1/4" plywood with joints staggered and laid at 90 deg. angle to each other.  Using this method I have no joint blocks to stumble over on the deck,  it is a lot more trouble to do and more costly.
Here the bottom is finished with 5 oz. fiberglass cloth and epoxy.
