FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
GRACE, an original play in three acts by John Carmichael and Edward Langlois, will be staged at the Edwin Booth Theatre on Central Avenue in Dover, New Hampshire from Friday, May 4th through Sunday, May 20th, 2001.
GRACE is
the moving story of Lewis, a 35-year-old AIDS victim who, while staying in the hospital, has recurring dreams of Madame Dubarry and the Court of Louis XV. This beautifully conceived, expertly written play, operatic in its romantic intensity, was first performed at the Mill Pond Center in Durham, where it won an award from New Hampshire Public Radio’s Philip Bragdon as Best Overall Production of 1988. Jim Barlow, writing at the time in Seacoast Scene, called Grace "one of the most moving, emotionally stirring plays I’ve ever witnessed."Christopher Curtis will play the role of Lewis. Barbara G. Hilton will play the Duchess/Catherine, while the role of De Croy/Mike will be played by Ralph Hamilton. Alan Huisman will play Duc D’Aiguillion. Madame Dubarry will be played by Paula Place Cordeiro, and Danny Gerstein will play Cardinal de Rohan/Sammy.
