3/4 cup softened butter (1 1/2 sticks)
2/3 cup sugar
3 teaspoons unsulfured molasses
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups flour
5 tablespoons milk
4 tablespoons finely chooped almonds
powdered sugar for rolling
OVEN: 400 degrees
How To Make
Beat butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add molasses and baking powder, and mix well. Slowly add flour, milk, and chopped almonds and knead by hand to form a smooth dough. Wrap and refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours.
Shape dough into finger-sized logs. Bake on greased cookie sheets for 10 to 12 minutes, until cookies are a light golden brown. While still warm, roll cookies in powdered sugar.
Makes 3 dozen.
