1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme |
I got this car when I was 19 years old, when the engine in my AMC spun a bearing. It was purchased for me by my grandfather so that I would have a car to go to college with.It became my daily driver for the next six years and 180,000 miles(for a total of 240,000 at the time I retired it). When I got it,it had a 3.8 liter Buick V6,TH 200C transmission, and a 2.41 geared rear axle in it,but is much different now. When the car had roughly 200,000 miles on it, I decided that it was time for a change-namely more horsepower! I swapped in a mild Chevy 350,a TH 200 4R automatic overdrive transmission, and rebuilt the front suspension.I then proceeded to drive it for another year (40,000 miles) before taking it off the road for a complete cosmetic makeover. It's now been off the road for 3 years, and I finally have taken it out to finish it.I just painted it(in 13 seperate pieces) 2002 Pontiac Firebird "Navy Blue Metallic"(GM paint code 28).It's a color that looks blue, black, or purple depending on the light you see it in.Hopefully,if I can come up with the money, it will be finished in the next 2 months(or at least the body and interior will be together). The final major mechanical modification I need to do is to install a Global West negative roll kit and B body 12 inch brakes and spindles. This is to correct an alignment problem caused by the Eibach springs(it has no caster!).Anyways, if you have any questions on these cars, please feel free to write me-after 10 years of ownership,I have a lot of knowledge I'm happy to share! |
