| Okay,so it's a piece of crap.All that I did on this one is help install a fresh 351 Windsor.The truck was given to a friend with a blown engine,and was to be a parts chaser/mud truck.It originally belonged to someone I worked with(James) who had traded his "Rustang" for it (an even trade-junk for junk!).I pulled an engine from an old LTD for it,but didn't put it in. I wound up getting many of the parts for my Fairmont project from James-including the heads from the junkyard motor and the Rustang's old transmission,so at least I got something for my troubles. |
| This car is living on borrowed time.Due to metal fatigue in the torque boxes for the lower control arms,it will soon be re-bodied as a convertible LX.The only thing that I've done on this car is set the valve lash after Bill installed a set of Edelbrock heads.I will,however, be doing paint and bodywork on the convertible before the parts are switched over.On slicks,it ran a 8.20@ 81 mph in the 1/8th. |

| I built most of this car,and am very proud of how well it turned out!I did the interior,most of the stereo,and installed the 425hp 406sbc.We installed a 3.23 posi disc brake 9 bolt rear when the stock 10 bolt broke.It went through 3 T-5 manual transmissions as well.The paint and bodywork were also my doing.We used later model ground effects,a Harwood cowl-induction hood,a '92 Z-28 grille(with the Bowtie painted with the same blue paint as the stripes),and had the roof switched from t-tops to a solid roof.The paint is Deltron base/clear in "universal"black,with grabber blue stripes. I also painted the engine to match the stripes.The wheels are from a Firebird GTA, with the centercap stickers repalced with Z-28 ones. |
