FORECASTER GLORY OF SHARLIN
"Wendy"







July 3, 1965 - June 26, 1981



I just had to tell you a little about "Wendy".
She came to live with us at age five. You see, my first Sheltie "Trina" was "visiting" at my brother's as she was "fragrant" and her son "Dondi" was 21 months old. (Not exactly the best arrangement, here.) We had walked over to my brother's many times, (about a mile and a half), across a very busy boulevard.

Well, the gardener (at my brother's), left the gate open, it was early evening in July, and Trina wanted to come "home". She never made it across the Boulevard.

The story could be told with all the extra "true" details, driving all over the neighborhood, calling her name, asking people if they saw a small black Sheltie, with tan and white markings, etc, but I really get all watery, and it is hard for you to understand!

I called the kennel that owned Dondi's sire the following morning, when I heard what had happened on the Boulevard, the night before. And at Peeriehall Kennels, they offered me ANY Sheltie there. Well, I had to sleep on it, and about 3 months later, went out to pick up "Wendy".

"Wendy" is another story. She was with us a little over ten and a half years, when she just "passed". Man, it is hard!!!

After "Wendy" went to "Doggie Heaven" a few months passed, and we heard about a ten month old tri-colored Sheltie (naturally!) that was having a very difficult time. Seems she had to be "locked" up, all day, and was a tremendous annoyance to neighbors!

Trying, still, to keep the stories "short and simple", we simply drove over and picked "Gucci" up and brought her "home". We never changed her name. In January, 1997, "Gucci" developed an abscess in a tooth. Tests, surgery, "E" collar (because of a "drain") and four days of "discomfort" and "Gucci" joined the others in "Doggie Heaven". And so, came "Gracie", in December of 1997. We now have "George" and "Gracie". (Two blue merle Shelties)

"George" is really "Georgie, girl".

"Gucci" was alone, from December, 1984 to July, 1990.
All my shelties have been through obedience training! "Georgie" would go through fire, for me!

"George" has a "new" friend
and companion, born in October, 1997
and at "home", on December 13th.


And you guessed it, "Gracie"
She is now an inch+ taller than "George"
