20 July 2002 - Governor's Picnic - The cadets from East High School participate in the assistance of the elderly as well as providing a Color Guard Team at the Downtown Park Strip. TBA - Fall Social - A casual event to introduce the cadets to the Battalion of East Anchorage High School. Food and drinks are provided by JROTC. Games and icebreakers take place. EHS swimming pool is rented for the cadets. Oct. 2003 - WACKO Decathelon/Fall Field Day - (each being held every-other year). Both are informal events where cadets within the district may become acquaited with one another. * WACKO Decathelon - 10 fun and crazy events such as Egg Drop, Obstacle Course, Cookie Relay, Water Balloon Toss, etc... * Fall Field Day - A triathalon composed of Volleyball, Riflery, and Orienteering. 8 Nov. 2002 - Bowling (sponsored by Dimond High School JROTC) - Bowling competition between JROTC units in the District. Held at AMF Bowl (East 40 Bowl). Dec. 2002 - Feb. 2003 - Drill Season - Competition within the District. Performance of Drill and Ceremony. Competitions are held at various locations. *2 Nov. 2002 @ North Pole *TBA Jan. 2003 @ Colony *TBA Mar. 2003 @ Dimond *TBA Mar. 2003 @ Chugiak 8 Feb. 2003 - Military Ball - The JROTC version of Prom. Held at the Sheraton Hotel, on the corner of 5th and Denali. 11 Apr. 2003 - Awards Banquet (sponsored by West High School JROTC) - Acknowledges and recognizes cadets, within the school district, for their achievements and accomplishments through the year. Held at the Egan Center. TBA - Recondo Challenge - Physical Training Teams from each JROTC program within the school district compete with one another. TBA - Spring Awards - The EHS JROTC go out to Otter Lake for free time. Cadets interact with one another playing, touch football, softball, and volleyball. Lunch is provided by the Army Instructors. Various awards are presented to cadets that have been earned during the second semester. The next year's commanding officers are announced and the current officers are retired.
