As a standout high school and collegiate football player Eric learned a thing or two about competition, speed, and perseverance. Fortunately, the lessons Eric learned in school have remained with him as he pursues his chosen hobby Motorcycle drag racing. Riding a drag bike, which accelerates from 0 to 100 mph in just six seconds and covers a quarter-mile in just over nine seconds, requires a combination of strength, agility, and finesse.

Eric started drag racing in 1995 first on his 1985 Yamaha with a group of friends at Houston Raceway Park. After that day he had a need for speed. By 1998 he decided to purchase his Suzuki Gs 1260 from RLM in San Antonio, Texas. Eric was very excited when his project finally came together.

On May 22, 1999, was the first time I began to feel the power of a drag bike. I participated in a Texas Shootout in Navasota, Texas.  It was a great experience, and for a beginner I came in 3rd Place and was presented with a check.  Also, in 1999 I won several events at Houston Raceway Park's Wednesday Trophy night, that's where I got all my practice.  On November 14, 1999 I traveled to Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas for the last race of the season to participate in Nopi Id Drag Wars.  This was there first time having bikes participate in their event, I went on to the winners circle and was present with a check, trophy, and my picture in their magazine.

The start of the 2000 season I decided to participate in Divisional Events. I was ready to experience some new and exciting things. My first Division IV event was at Texas Motorplex, it was a two day event time trials on Saturday and the showdown on Sunday.  I also went to Noble, Okalahoma to participate in a Soul Brothers Event didn't come away with a win but had a lot of fun and another great experience.  For the first time the Texas shootout was held at Houston Raceway Park there were (5) events, by the end of the season I ended up in 2nd Place in points.  We also manage to win (1) event July 29, 2000 and came in 3rd Place on August 26, 2000. The last race of the season was the World Finals in Gainesville, Florida where I was the #1 Qualifier in Pro/ET that was a great experience and a great way to end the season.

Following a moderately successful two season, Eric blossomed in 2001. This was the best season ever we had a lot of fun and great new experiences. This year I won several events, but the one that was special to me was the NHRA 50th Anniversary event (August 11).  They brought out the green flag on this one and it was a lot of fun, I finally won a Wally that was the trophy of the year.  We also, had the opportunity to win another Texas Shootout (April 7).  I also added a throttle stop to the bike and we are still learning about it but in Oklahoma at the Soul Brothers Event it was on the money.   It also gave me a chance to participate in 9.90 (Super Gas) at Texas Shootout where I came in 2nd place and from then on I have been running two classes.  My last win of the season was 1st Place at a Nopi ID Drag Wars event at Houston Raceway Park. Another great season, under my belt and looking forward to the next season.

Using the axiom, "One team, One mind, One Purpose" Eric and crew chief Todjlyn have dedicated themselves to winning each and every event they attend and have remained focused on that goal, throughout the season. My crew chief shows the same hard work and dedication as I do. We understand that as long as we remain clearly focused on our goals, and work together
as a team, we can achieve them.
