Façade
Façade
Porcelain smile,
Jeweled tears-
Smiles frozen forever.
They are impossibly white,
Lips red like cadmium paints-
So many faces,
So many people.
Scary
Beautiful
Fake.
I met you yesterday,
And again today.
It took a while to recognize you,
Would you tell me,
Tell me which mask it will be-
I'd really like to know...
Which façade it will be this time.
Those painted eyes, glazed lips
Forever as they are.
I can't tell anymore,
If those tears are real
Do they run down your mask-
Or is the paint still wet?
I'd ask you to tell me...
But I don't care anymore.
