George gave his occupation as Teamster.
It is believed that George served in the Civil War in the Tennessee 12th Calvary (Greens), Company C. (Ref: Roster of Confederate Soldiers, p. 376)
He was married first to Margaret Jane PANGLE (daughter of Andrew PANGLE and Nancy Catherine CALTHORPE) on 25 Oct 1843 in McMinn County, Tennessee. Margaret Jane PANGLE was born about 1816 in Tennessee and she died before 3 Oct 1853 in Tennessee.
