Buster is my not so newly aqcuired Boston Terrier. I bought Buster at Uptown Pets on October 15th, 2001. He was born on August 9th, 2001. I have a few pictures of him on here so go ahead and take a look. I've recently transfered the "Big Dawg" from a kennel to a little pet gated area. He's only had 3 accidents since the switch and seems much happier out of the kennel.

Check out the Petsmart website for a brief >biography< on Boston Terriers.

Training

Trying to Train Buster is trying, if you know what I mean.

I have some things that Buster knows right now:

  • House Training - obvious
  • No - Oops, stop pooping, peeing also whatever you are doing
  • Come - Basically Heel, he's not so good at this one
  • Stop - Stop biting
  • Off - All feet on the ground/floor, stop jumping, but he's just excited to see you
  • Outside - Time to go outside and do his duty
  • Inside - Time to go back inside, go to door
  • Good Boy - When he does a good job at anything
  • Sit - I guess Sit Down
  • Down - Have him lay down
  • Leave It - Leave his treat or whatever it is alone
  • Potty - He does #1
  • Poop - He does #2
  • OK - his release command for whatever I asked him to do (Leave it or Stay)
Future Goals for Buster:

  • Stay - Sit still
  • Quiet - Quit barking, although he's the quietest dog in the world unless he's snorting or snoring
  • Shake - obvious
Bonus Goals for Buster

  • Give me kiss - although pretty sappy he gives me a kiss
  • Upstairs - He goes up the stairs by himself
He's reached a lot of the goals I've tried to teach him. He's a really bright dog when he's not going around the house like a mad man.
