| Hi ! Nice to meet you. I am geologist whose principal research interest is the study of environmental changes in the past. I`ve dabbled a bit in archaeology too. I and my colleagues use pollen, diatom, charcoal (fusain), heavy mineral, geochronology, stratigraphy and geomorphology to understand vegetation changes, palaeofire, palaeolandscapes and palaeoclimates. For example we have determined the environmental changes during Holocene in eastern coast of Kalimantan, Bengkulu (Sumatra), Pare-Pare (Sulawesi), Makassar Strait, Segara Anakan (Southern Java), Pacitan (East Java), Bandung basin (west Java) and Jakarta. Current projects are aimed at understanding the repetition of palaeofires and their influences to the vegetation changes in the peat swamp forest of Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. | |||||||||||||||||
