Toilet Rocker's Act Is Art Expert Witness Says

When Kevin (G.G.) Allin defecated onstage and threw feces at an audience at the Odd Rock Café, his behavior was "definitely acceptable" and qualified as an art form, an expert witness told jurors Wednesday.

The witness was Jeffery A. Halley, an assistant professor of sociology at the University of Texas - San Antonio. He testified under cross examination by Asst. Dstr. Atty. Michael (unknown).

...there and ascertain if they enjoyed "Allin's act," Halley said. "You can't judge art by standards of it being offensive. Much of today's art is offensive."

Halley criticized a videotape of Allin's performance that was shown to jurors Tuesday and again Wednesday.

"I think the tape was faulty because it was all directed at Mr. Allin," and not the audience, Halley said.

Jurors need to consider how the audience reacted to his performance, he said.
