This is my report I am writing about the GM V6/60 engines. I will also have carburetor information and fuel injection information. I am also working on citing my sources.
Introduction
The GM V6/60 engine was used in a wide variety of applications. It was used in Chevrolet S10 trucks and Blazers, Chevrolet Camaros, Cadillac Cimmarons, Pontiac Firebirds, and Buick Centurys. It was sold to Jeep for use in the Jeep Cherokee, to Isuzu for some four-wheel-drive vehicles, and even to Mercury Marine for use as an inboard boat engine. It used a variety of fuel delivery systems including: the Rochester Products Division Varajet II 2SE and E2SE carburetor, throttle body injection, multi-port fuel injection, and sequential fuel injection. Two ignition systems were used. Earlier models used the GM High energy ignition system, while later models used a digital ignition system. It was used with automatic transmissions, as well as manual transmissions. It also uses metric fasteners exclusively.
It was used in front wheel drive and rear wheel drive vehicles. Front wheel drive (FWD) vehicles used electric cooling fans. The location of the water pump is also different. In large engine compartments have the water pump mounted directly above the crankshaft. In smaller engine compartments, it is mounted above and to the side of the regular location. Lower-profile intake plenums are used, and the engines are mounted at a steeper angle for more hood clearance. Due to differences in the engine and accesory mounts, they aren't interchangeable.
The 60° refers to the angle between the cylinder banks. There is 120° of crankshaft rotation between each cylinder firing.

2.8 Liter V6 Engine
The 2.8 V6/60 was offered as a transverse mount and a longitudinal mount engine. The transverse mount was used in the front wheel drive vehicles, and the longitudinal mount was used in rear wheel drive vehicles (Camaro). It was first offered in 1980 in the GM A- and X-body cars.
