Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine impacted life in Medieval Europe in more ways than one. Her impact revolved around the role she played in many fields. Being a woman, she was able to change the way by which a woman was treated and looked upon in this time period, which lasted between 1,000 A.D. - 1,300 A.D. The High Middle Ages were highly for the housewife, however, Eleanor changed this way of mind. As a woman, she changed the role of a wife, a mother, and a queen as seen through the eyes of people during her two royal reigns. She showed a way how a woman could be involved in the politics of the time. During her husbands' reigns she was always involved politically. Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine was nothing but the ordinary. She always stood out as a beauty, intellectual human, and a free thinking woman, which was extremely uncommon during the Middle Ages. |
