Help Me to Help You

I was born and live in Latvia, the small Baltic country, which is located between the East and the West both from geographic and political point of view. Through many centuries we have been «set free» by different people. There is neither oil nor gold in Latvia. This fact surely prevented our people from total «freedom». Latvia still experiences the period of primary capital accumulation, with all the consequences of it…

But, enough of sad. A lot of gentlemen from various international funds often come to us. West analysts give us lectures about the period of primary capital accumulation and, not without pride, show breathtaking slides to all appearance of our future life as in paradise. Touring politicians demonstrate instructively to their Latvian colleagues most favourite samples of the stick and the carrot policy. Overseas Maecenases sometimes present to some selected orphanage a computer class or the library in the language, which is unknown to these poor children. Others, – take care of our stray cats and dogs. To cut a story short, – the situation is not too bad at all…

We – myself, my wife and our three children have been quite free in search of food and shelter for almost three years. I, the former head of the family, manage to earn some living by working at the car-parking. My wife works as a baby-sitter. Our own children, not having an opportunity to continue their education, earn their bread-and-butter as well as the roof above their heads, giving the lessons English language and computer competence. In brief, – like all other people rushing (persecuted) to the paradise of consumption do.

The problem lies elsewhere. There is a forcible reason, as I think, to overcome the chains of personal pride and to ask for help once again. I have been seriously occupied with physics for all my life. But I have done it not in a customary way. Working as a stoker, charged coal into heating boilers and tackled the problem of electron. Raked out slag and again sought the solution of the problem, brought up by myself. By the time I was fifty the possibility appeared with the help of my children to publish some results of my work in the Internet. The daughters typed an article, which wasn't really big, in the text writer. And the son organized a homepage. Thus in May of 1998 the www.ltn.lv/~elefzaze/ with an article «From the Field Model of Electron to the Unified Field Theory» came into being. And all this has been going on for four years. In the short intervals of fighting for physical surviving I manage to write a couple of pages. I give my unpublished manuscript to the children, they type it and publish on my page. Whenever I find time I go to the Internet-club and take some print copies. I look it through carefully, make some adjustments and give it to my children again.

Do I have the right to require from my children greater participation in the business of all my life? Doubtfully. They have already seen enough, up to «freedom» which fell down on us, the jobless spending all his time calculating writing figures while the fathers of others properly worked and provided themselves and the families. The are watching me spending the money we all need so badly on my work in the Internet. And they still find the time to convert my manuscripts into the published pages. Not to mention the fact I can think, read and write only in Russian. So my children have to check and translate all the mail, which is almost 100% in English.

Some readers, probably, still remember «SOS», placed earlier on the page. It has existed for almost two years, not having brought any financial help. However – it allowed to express gratitude to many people who placed the references in a network on my page and have sent encouraging letters. Special value of these letters was in their salutary influence on my children. These letters encouraged them, gave them forces and hope that their work is necessary.

I am engaged in the favorite business all my life and I don't need any recognition from the outside any longer. I see the importance of the received results quite well. Much water has flowed under the bridges since I experienced the great excitement of spirit after our first meeting. The thing I still need is the possibility to continue my work, and most badly, to bring to the potential successors the things, which I managed to discover and appreciate. It is painful for me to realize, that the new generation of physicists is doomed to torments of physicists of my time, at least, – many of them. Isn't it worth regrets and correction when in the popular book «Superforce» Paul Davies, on behalf of the majority of physicists of the basic calibre of second half XX century, states:

The old conception of rational and mechanical world, which is controlled by cause-and-effect relations, has sunk into oblivion, and gave place to the enigmatic world of paradoxes and the «other» reality.

Intuition became the first victim of two scientific revolutions-twins. The physicist of XIX century could mentally make a plausible image of subject of the research, whereas quantum and relativistic physics demanded unprecedented work of mind. It appeared to be quite difficult even to physicists-professionals to imagine some phenomenons. The founder of quantum theory Max Planck failed to accept all its fancifulness, and Einstein considered this theory to be so absurd, that persistently denied its ideas to the end of his days.

New Physics continues to detect unexpected features in the behaviour of nature, and each new generation of students-physicists finds these ideas strange and even lacking sense. At the entrance of a building of one famous English university, physical faculty they hung the poster «Be cautious: the Physics can drive mad!»

Think of the fact that your children can also face the problem of the similar choice, which tormented Planck, Einstein, Schroedinger many others who were not so well-known. And how many clean and pure souls are crippled after facing this problem! Surf the net yourself and count the number of quite descent authors, and everyone offers his own decision of this problem. Why is it uncomfortable to them to live in the Temple of Present Physics? Many of them have been successfully working in this area of knowledge and they by no means can be suspected of dementia or inability to live in accordance with the thesis – do as others do.

It can be that the Reality is not «beyond» and intricate, but our mind tries to deal with the certain part of nature with the help of the strange inadequate to the subject schemes, that served well under other circumstances. Perhaps we should be suspicious about our absurd theories, our «glasses», chosen for absolutely another subject area. I doubt you would blame the Creator for careless work, looking at the remote things through the glasses, that was chosen for you for reading the Bible.

Figuratively speaking, the method has been found of producing fundamentally new glasses, and looking trough it, the «harmful» quantums of Einstein look very much like rationally arranged and lovely «creatures», richly involved on that «relativistic sand». Moreover, the technique of producing these glasses-theory and the components used remain almost without changes. Only the documentation on a new product and the instruction on its use changed.

There are people who surprisingly «directly» understand the next truth: «There is nothing more practical than a good theory». They immediately require the business-plan on the use of the New Theory for manufacture of dollars. I should disappoint such people – I do not have the ready project of the perpetuum mobile which will scoop gratuitous energy from physical vacuum. But what could Newton, Maxwell and Einstein offer to such people at the time of development of their theories? And compare this with what Mankind has received by their further development and use! Manna from heaven still has to be earned!

People usually tend to assist only to cripples, but please could you also help the homeless physicist while there is still some sense in it. Is he not a cripple, who can't imagine his life without being constantly in search of the nature of electron and other quantums, who even does not care properly of his own reputation or of providing the living.
