Analysis: Quatre's past seems like a good one despite his self-loathing. His mother died in childbirth and he was raised by his father. When he was 13 years old, he ran away from home and was highjacked by the Maganacs who taught him how to fly (better I guess). Anyway, when the Maganacs were attacked, Quatre helped them and in return for the favor, they follow him around like a bunch of body guards. When Quatre returned home, Maganacs in tow, Dr. S asked for funding from the Winner frotunes to build the Gundam Sandrock and then asked Quatre to pilot it. Although the elder Winner demanded that Quatre not fight, being a pacifist, but Quatre said he had to anyway. Later in the series, during a battle, Quatre's father's ship is destroyed while he watches and he kind of goes nuts for a little while. Despite that little interlude with the Dark Side, Quatre is the gentlest of the five Gundam pilots. Instead of just killing an enemy outright, he asks them to surrender first and if they refuse, THEN he kills them. He has something called a Space Heart which enables him to sense other's emotions and feelings. Only it works when it wants to. As soon as he met Trowa he took a liking to him and they become very close friends. While Trowa plays the flute, Quatre plays the violin. |
