		Welcome to Elementary Music!  The goal of this music class are two fold.  First, all students need to know the fundamentals of music needed to prepare them for becoming an active member of the Indian Band.  Since this involves much music theory, it is obviosluy not the most fun part.  The second, and most enjoyable, goal is making it possible for every sutdent in grades K-5 to be successful in front of their peers and families when we put on programs.  It is not always easy for each and every student to do math or read or write successfully, it is, however, my goal that performing in a music program will be easy for each student.  Nothing feels better than knowing you have done a job well.  This is what I attempt to accomplish every time I put students in front of an audience.  I want them to feel good about themselves and what they do.  The students work hard to prepare for our programs and when it is over I want them to feel proud of themselves and their accomplishments.  Learning music to enable them to further their music education is very imortant.  Being certain that they are capable and successful in front of their peers and families is the ultimate goal.
