What Happened

Annie was born in the most natural way possible. On her due date, my water broke at 2.30 am and contractions started like I never Knew them shortly after. Our Sage-femme, Michele Behrens came around 4am to check how things were doing. I was just 1 cm dilated since Friday and hadn't moved but contractions were picking up. She left and contractions got stronger around 5 am. I was exited so I called my mother in Mexico to talk me trough some contractions but I was tired and wanted to rest.
I propped up some pillows on my bed and would stand up during contractions to manage the pain and then I would rest on the pillows and sleep profoundly for the 5 to 8 min between contractions. At 6.30 the pain was getting a bit stronger so I filled the tub and stayed there for the next hour or so. The warm water helped the contractions be more effective and also relaxed me so that the pain flowed through me and I didn't block myself. Now I understood why its called labor... you work with your body with, pain as your guide to bring this child into the world. Finally around 7:30 Am Yves timed some of my contractions and we decided to make our way to our Sage-famme's home/office which was about 15 min away (in the way to the Maison de naissance) in Lully sur Morges.
Contractions were strong but bearable. I would just hum the duration of them and the vibration would break the pain, and relax me. Michele checked and by 10.30 am I was 3 cm dilated. We decided to make our way to the Maison de naissance. We got there around 11:30 and Michele and Yves started getting things ready in the room. I walked up the stairs to the room that was on the 3rd floor. It felt good to walk up even if I had to stop for contractions. I worked on my labor. and Michele monitored to make sure the baby was fine... 25 min was enough I am still 3 cm.
As I labored we put some relaxing music and an image kept getting me through contractions...Electric blue night sky, a full moon; A Brice canyon kind of stone formation in two almost orange columns and a white gray wolf. (go figure).....
