Reiki & Reflexology
What is Reflexology? Reflexology is a natural, non-invasive healing art that is based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears that correspond to every part of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes, Reflexology provides an increase in circulation, a reduction of stress and tension, and helps promote the natural functioning of the body. While the client relaxes in a comfortable position, the Reflexologist will work on the bare feet, using precise finger and thumb technique to stimulate the reflexes on both feet to encourage the entire body to come back into balance. A Reflexology session usually lasts between 45 minutes to an hour. Reflexology is completely safe for everyone. The basic technique and the length of the session may, however, need to be modified for the very young, the aged or the extremely ill.
What Is Reiki? Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-invasive form of hands-on healing that increases energy, reduces pain, and produces deep relaxation and a general feeling of well-being. Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that allows everyone to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve health and enhance the quality of life. A Reiki session consists of the practitioner placing his/her hands on the client, who sits or lies comfortably and is fully clothed. The client usually feels a sense of heat where the practitioner's hands are placed. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Reiki is beneficial to a large number of ailments, both physical and emotional. It is particularly effective in the case of injuries and after surgery; the healing energy seems to assist the body in the natural regeneration process.
