Summary
of Goal III
¡§the
values the physical well being of its
members¡¨.
As a community, the
As stated in the UD Mission, they strive to embrace ¡§stewardship of all
God¡¦s human and nature resources¡¨.
They believe that physical well being is best secured by protecting the
physical environment and learning to live in harmony with the created order and
nature¡¦s laws as God has established them.
In support of our belief, we can value the humankind by the seven
dimensions of wellness: social, spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, environmental
and vocational.
Personal
Reflection
From my point of view, I agree with the above-mentioned standpoint. To value humankind, I think these seven
dimensions of wellness is a useful and assessable method.
Social
The social activities can be categorizes as many types such as dinner
with ¡§valuable friend¡¨ in business world, go to Latin Dance Centre¡K¡Ketc. Most of these activities widen our
network of friends, better interpersonal skills and get more experience for
myself.
I also like social activities after work and I have chosen to be a volunteer
in a community centre. Over 5 years
of service experience, I learnt more from the served clients and it could not
be leant from any books. The
experience taught me to be satisfied with my existing conditions which were
given by the parents.
Spiritual
I have no religion belief but sometimes I believe that the God will
surround me to guide my behaviour.
Not to do something illegally, to be an honest and kindness
person¡K¡KI think it is a universal truth.
Therefore I will be a right person and must compliance with spiritual
aspect.
Physical
Health is a most precious thing in the world. I understood that the physical condition
could affect your whole life. For
example, if you are suffered from blood cancer, you cannot work, cannot travel
and cannot take care of your family.
Because of busy lifestyle, I felt my health condition is not so good in
this moment. I hope I will pay more
attention to my health condition in the future.
Intellectual
To be honest, I am not an intellectual person. I believe that an intellectual person
may lead more success in his development.
I completely agreed that knowledge can enrich our life. Therefore, I attend this MBA course in
order to learn more knowledge.
Emotional
It is difficult to determine the decision in the business world. Since I worked in Human Resources
Department, I was reluctant to terminate someone¡¦s contract. As a HR profession, it is very difficult
to control my emotion for some critical situation such as in our business case
¡§Fire Her or Not¡¨.
Environmental
We are very lucky to life in
Vocational
In addition, there are many chances to selection our vocation in
Critique
After studying the above-mentioned seven dimensions of wellness, I am
very puzzled about some ideas during my job.
As previously mentioned, I worked in Human Resources Department, one of
the most important duties is the recruitment and selection. According to the concept of the seven
dimension of wellness, I must select a person who possessed all wellness. But it is impossible to find the ideal
person to fit for the vacancy.
In the past experience, I selected a person who has an excellent skill in
social participation. He took part
on many social activities such as Lion Club and organized many staff
recreational events. Finally, he
was fired by his superior because his work performance was extremely poor. It illustrated that we must use the
seven dimensions selectively to value humankind in the actual business world.
