It was just like going back in time on the Severn Valley Railway on February 22nd. Placed in and around the three main stations of this preserved line could be found vintage vehcles from the 1950's & 1960's.  Click here. to read a full review and to view some pictures.
Many enthusiasts gathered at Nick Bakers yard in Gillingham Dorset on February 23rd. A large turn out of commercial vehicles was complimented by Nicks own Burrell Traction Engine 'Daphne' built in 1926 and sporting the works number of 4049. You can read a full review of the event by clicking here.

Making its first public outing following a winters construction, 'Sir Johns Arms' took to the roads to attend the Easter Transport Gala at Kimmins Mill near Stroud in Gloucestershire. The Van was recieved well with many complimentory comments being passed. All those cold winter weekends grubbing around in the shed seemed to suddenly be worth while. Work begins on the interior and another coat of paint should make all the difference. Click here for a few more pics of the outing with 'Elsie' who performed very well indeed.

Yet another massive auction looms large, and once again we have to thank those hard working people at Cheffins for providing us with the opportunity to gossip and speculate. Although not exactly an event for the purists, the next sale which is set for April 26th does hold a lot of interesting lots. Included in the sale are:  1914 Mann Wagon, 1923 Aveling & Porter 6 Tone Traction Engine, 1933 Fowler Showmans DNA Type (Convertion), 1930 Aveling & Porter Type AD Steam Tractor (Conversion) plus much more including a Steam Powere Morris Minor 1000 pick up! Whatever next?
Full details can be found on the Cheffins Website.
Following its contoversial sale before auction, Fowler Showmans 'Iron Maiden' has arrived at its new home in Yorkshire. Purchased alongside several other lots pre sale, the engine will join Graham Akinsons other two Showmans Engines at his holiday Park near Scarborough. It is reported that the engine will not be rallied for the foreseeable future, however the new owner is known to enjoy showing his other engines off to the geaneral public on rally fields, so it is hoped that in time 'Iron Maiden' will be out and about again.
Although technical problems prevented a forth engine from arriving, the 2003 Easter Transport Gala featured no less that three full size steamers. A strong supporting cast of Commercial, PSV and Military vehicles, Tractors and Cars made Kimmins Mill the place to be! Click here for report.
