Haven't they got anything better to do ? 10 December 2001 Dear Sir/ Madam, We have learnt your comments regarding the detention of Alina Lebedeva. Allow us to provide you with broader information about this case. On 8 November during the visit of The Prince of Wales to Latvia Alina Lebedeva caused an incident by attacking His Royal Highness with flowers. After the incident Alina Lebedeva was detained and brought to the preliminary investigation detainment. During the detention immediate investigative inquiry actions have been carried out in this case. Alina Lebedeva was held in custody for three days. During the custody she had an access to the lawyer and an opportunity to meet the parents. Since 11 November Alina Lebedeva has been released under the police supervision as a security measure. On 29 November, after the hearing, the Prosecutor of Riga Regional Court lifted the initial accusation to Alina Lebedeva by pressing charges of hooliganism. Further procedural decisions in this case will be made in a due time after the pre-trial investigation will be over.
