FRAGLINEferries
Despite of its actual condition, Fragline is one of the older Greek companies and, probably, would have services for many years to come. Before of Strintzis Lines, before of Anek Lines, before of Minoan Lines, almost “grandmother” of Superfast Ferries, this company was estabilished in 1950s by the captain Georgios Fragoudakis, starting a service to Cyclades. Then the new ferries “Elli” and “Georgios” joined the fleet. This company started Italy - Greece connections in 1971, introducing the “Georgios” between Patras, Igoumenitsa, Corfu and Brindisi. In 1981 the “Eolos” was purchased, then, five years later, the “Ouranos” alo entered the Fragline fleet. The company had operated two ferries until 1994, when “Eolos” was sold and the Patras service ceased to Igoumenitsa. Then, in 1999, the new “Ouranos” substituted the former one: this was a great thing, purchasing one of the better high-aged cruise-ferries, improving very much the on-board services. The Brindisi - Igoumenitsa line is plyed by many operators, sudently born and equally suddently death, often only in a summertime: Fragline opposes a very cheap passage, chosen by many usual clients: in fact I think that, wiewing the ships on Brindisi - Corfu - Igoumenitsa line, the “Ouranos” is the best of all.
