Colorado FIRST STRIKE Project

Recognizing the fact that the State of Colorado is the strategic headquarters and command for the US Nuclear Weapons War Fighting Establishment, The Colorado FIRST STRIKE Project began years ago to counter US President Ronald Reagan's massive initiative to pour billions of dollars into US defense spending and to develop a US Global Nuclear FIRST STRIKE posture. Colorado is home of the US Space Command, the North American Aerospace and Defense Command (NORAD), Peterson , Schriever and Buckley Air Force Bases, Air Force Space Command, the US Air Force Academy, the Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant, and numerous Corporations who engage directly in building and maintaining the US nuclear weapons war fighting establishment.

It is the intent of this Project to expose and confront the new nuclear threat as envisioned and directed by President George W. Bush as he authorizes nearly $400 BILLION to the US Military for the development of a new generation of nuclear weapons and a highly destabilizing ballistic missile defense shield, commonly known as "STAR WARS".

America currently maintains some 5,500 nuclear weapons on hair-trigger alert. The official Pentagon strategy remains unchanged: to "fight" and "win" a nuclear war. The explosion of 1000 hydrogen bombs on 100 cities -from such weapons as MX land-based missiles, B-2 air-based stealth bombers and Trident II nuclear submarine sea-based missiles- ALL backed up by a STAR WARS ballistic missile defensive shield (CENTRAL to an effective First Strike nuclear strategy), will most likely induce a 'nuclear winter' and the end of all life on Earth.
