Mammoth Caves
Kentucky
Oh boy this is a fun one!

I went to this park with my now in-laws during Easter of 1995. What a beautiful place it is! Dogwoods in bloom everywhere and the weather was much more amicable than the weather in Michigan. If you're just dying to be done with winter, try visiting this park in April, I assure you it's worth it.

In addition to the great camping available both inside and out of the park, there are wonderful nature trails (you must pass by the river Styx) and of course, the caves.

If you're traveling any length of time at all to reach this park then I highly recommend staying at least a few days. One day should be dedicated to one of the many spelunking tours the park offers. Now I'm clausterphobic, but even I had a great time doing this tour. Just be careful of Castration Rock! (Thankfully, this posed no danger for me)
