Additional Info:
Emma lived in France until age five, and then moved to England.
She was named after a close family friend (or relative, according
to some sources) of the same name. A myth that she is known to
her family as "Emma Watson (II)" came about through her being
included in the Internet Movie Database under that name. The
Roman numeral simply indicates that she was the second actress
named Emma Watson in their database. She began showing interest
in acting as soon as she entered school. At age seven, she won
first prize in her year for a poetry recital in the school’s
"Daisy Pratt" Poetry competition. She went on to co-star as Morgan
La Fay in the school’s production of "Arthur: The Young Years" and
then took one of lead roles in "The Happy Prince", even being cast as
the angry cook in "Alice In Wonderland". However, she
had no professional acting experience before being cast as Hermione
in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone".
Emma is an avid hockey player, having recently received her colors
for the school team. She also enjoys skiing, fishing, rounders and
netball, and likes to take part in all kinds of school activities
including athletics and sculling.

- Her favorite gadget is her iPod, and she texts her friends using her Nokia 3330.
- Emma Watson is also a fictional character in Jane Austen's
unfinished novel The Watsons. Joan Aiken's 1996 novel Emma Watson:
The Watsons Completed features characters from that work, and
although it is often described as a "completion" of Austen's work,
Aiken also rewrote the opening part. In an ironic twist, Jane
Austen happens to be one of the favourite authors of J. K. Rowling,
author of the Harry Potter books, who named Mrs. Norris after one
of Austen's characters.
