| -Supporting Role Mezzo (B to high F) Little Red Ridinghood is a ravenous little girl who is off to visit her sick Granny at the beginning of Act I. She first stops at the Baker's House to get some bread and cakes for her Grandmother (if they can last the journey). She skips of and begins her trip into the woods. Little Red encounters a hungary, and lascivious Wolf on her way...he convinces her to take her time on her journey. Eventually, she makes it to Granny's cottage. But what she finds is the Wolf! He devours her in a single bound. Luckily, the little girl is rescued by the Baker. She has become much more aware of strangers and straying from the path. She gives up her cape to the baker...yet another item to break the spell...in hopes Granny will make another one with the skins of the Wolf. In Act II, she visits the Baker and his family agian...her mother is no where to be found. They agree to escort her to her Grandmothers...yet on the way is stopped by the Giantess. Luckily, through the horror of Act II....she survives. "Stay away from my cape or I'll slice you into a thousand bits!" |
