| -Cameo Roles Mezzo (C to high E) Lucinda and Florinda are both lovely, yet evil stepsisters to Cinderella. After attending the King's Festival, they chase him through the woods with their stepmother. When the Prince shows up at their home, and their feet do not fit the golden slipper...their mother cuts of Lucinda's heel, and Florinda's toe. Yet, the Prince notices the blood trickeling from the shoe. Still, they take the chance to win favor with Cinderella at her wedding at the end of Act I, and are punished when pigeons swoop down and poke out their eyes-leaving them blind. In Act II, they visit Cinderella at the castle, eger-to-serve their wealthy sister. When the Giantess arrives, they set out with their mother and the Steward....and eventually go to a hidden kingdom for safety. "I was greedy." "I was vain." "I was haughty." "I was smug." "We were happy." "It was fun." "But we were blind." "Then we went into the woods to get out wish and now we're really blind...." |
