Empire Screenwriting Resource:

SCREENPLAY CRITIQUES

Screenplay critiques offered through the Empire Screenwriting Resource include a thorough review of the script, with considered comments provided on . . .

  1. concept
  2. character
  3. story
  4. dialogue
  5. action

. . . as well as on word use, readability, and presentability where applicable. The first several pages of the screenplay also receive a word-for-word mark-up in "pages" fashion.

To get the most out of any professional screenplay critique offered through this site--paid or Contest-related--first review and apply the guidance provided in:

Scripts submitted for review that do not show clear signs of having benefitted from this general guidance may be returned without the requested critique being performed. Critique time is best spent on more advanced matters that require individual attention. Not following these suggestions can also aggravate and tire the reviewer--not something you want to do given your desire for useful feedback.

Please include several blank pages of paper with the script--to be used for notes and comments--and a self-addressed stamped envelope large enough for the script to be returned in. Submitters from outside the U.S. please remember it takes U.S. postage to mail a package out of this country. International postal coupons equivalent to the necessary postage value may be inserted. Submissions may be made by e-mail attachment, with some discussion as to transfer protocol, but all feedback and "mark-up" would then be done by the same means.
