That night, Mortimer was awakened by the phone ringing. He looked at the
clock. It read 12:47. He answered it.

"Hey, every prisoner gets a phone call, right?" Lee's voice floated from the
other end.

"Lee, it's the middle of the night."

"This isn't over! When I get out of jail, I'll hunt you down--"

Mortimer smiled to himself and put down the receiver.

In the cell, Lee stared at the phone. "He hung up on me?"

At the same time, Carmen was hacking in Acme to talk to the Chief.

The Chief yawned. "Carmen, don't you ever sleep? Especially after all that's
happened? It doesn't surprise me Maelstrom chose this time to escape. What
with all the weird stuff that's happened."

Carmen began to chuckle.

"What's so funny?" the Chief asked.

"Just wondering how someone as arrogant and cruel as Lee could have a cousin
as modest and soft hearted like Mortimer. "

The Chief quaked in his window. "It's almost worthy of a sitcom. Something
weird in the genetics must have happened in the Jordan family."

"Maybe it's true," Carmen agreed. "Until Next Crime, Chief."

"Goodbye, Carmen."

The end.
