UNDOING
"Ivy..Ivy..please!!" Carmen gasped, unsure of how long she was
going to hold on before consousness left her. "Please..he's locked me
here..electric beams..don't come too close!!" In front of her the figure
in the shadows quickly turned around behind her, signaling someone not
to come too close. She then made circular motions with her body. Carmen
understood she was looking for the controls."There!" she cried with her
little remaining strength as she managed to point to a huge computer
near her. The figure quickly looked at it. Then, before Carmen's
startled eyes, reached behind her back, pulled out what looked like a
strange machine gun, and blew the contraption up, causing the beams to
fade away. Too thankful to ask questions, Carmen collasped into the
person's arms. "Water..please..water.." she gasped. She heared the sound
of a water bottle opening up and being thrust into her arms. She
gratefully drank until she had regained her strengh. As she opened her
eyes to thank Ivy and ask where she got that gun (as far as SHE could
remember Ivy had NEVER owned a gun) she was startled to see Ivy just walk
into the room! Carefully, she turned to her rescuer. What she saw caused
her to faint dead away.

"Beep, beep," came the familar sound that Zack and the Ducks knew
well. Immidiately they all looked at their wrists. "It's the Chief this
time," Zack reassured the Ducks."Come in, Chief!"
"Where on Earth ARE you guys!" the Chief asked as he appeared
before the startled Ducks. "You never call, you never write, it's been
ages since you contacted me.."
"It's been about two hours, Chief!"
"Hey, time goes slow when you're waiting!! What did you find at the
museum? Where's Ivy? What did you find out about Carmen...uh..excuse
me.." The Chief said slowly as he became aware of the Ducks who were
staring at him just as surprised, "Where are you?" He managed to be
quiet as Zack filled him in on the whole story. "Well...uh.." the Chief
began, clearly at a loss for words, "Uh..a pleasure to meet you!"
"Uh..likewise," Tanya answered. "Wow,you're one impressive machine!"
"I like her!" the Chief said quickly. Just then, another
unfamilar sound filled the air.
"What's that?"Zack asked quickly.
"Just our communicators," Tanya explained, showing them to Zack
and the Chief. "Come in," she said, pushing a button. Wildwing's face
appeared on it.
"Tanya, find Mallory and Ivy and hurry over to the front of the
ship, we've found out what Dragonous is up to!"

"You think she'll be okay?" Ivy asked as Mallory held Carmen in
her lap.
"Don't worry, she'll be fine!" Mallory said. "I wonder why she
fainted after she saw me, after I just saved her life!"
"Well, I think it's because you're probably the first walking,
talking Duck she's EVER seen!" Ivy pointed out.
"Oh..yeah..," Mallory admitted. " Sometimes I forget how different
I look compared with everyone else, but they're quick to remind me!"
"What, they scream with fright whenever you walk by?"
"Sometimes, people who visit here or don't know us do!"
"How awful," Ivy said. "I mean, I WAS surprised at first when I
first saw you, but you're so brave, really nice and soo cool!! Only those
Lizards would be afraid of you!"
"Thanks, Ivy! You think I'm cool?"
"Oh, yeah, you're super cool!"
"You're cool, too! See, we really ARE more alike than different!
You think that's why she called me Ivy the first time she saw me?" Just
then, Carmen started to stir in her lap.
"God, help, Dragonous, Dragonous, DRAGONOUS!!!" Carmen cried with a
start as she awoke.
