iRatings™ Xplained

iRatings Defined
iRatings are a symbolic manner to rate items that relate directly to a particular musical(i.e. Films, Soundtracks, Books, etc.).
In numerical terms, each uppercase I is one point(1.0). And, each lowercase I represents a half-point(0.5). It's the combination of these uppercase and lowercase I's that an iRating is given to an item. If, for instance, an item has an iRating of IIIi in a certain category, numerically that would translate into 3.5; three uppercase I's(3.0), plus one lowercase i(0.5). The highest possible iRating is: IIIII.(Translating into 5.0).

iRating[Pre]
iRating[Pre] is a label indicating that the iRating of the particular item is preliminary. Meaning that the editor, eMusicals Webmaster, has not yet experienced the referenced rendition first hand. This preliminary iRating is rather intelligently and carefully based on literarure and known facts about such rendition. Usually, visitors to eMusicals who have indeed experienced it first hand are given an opportunity to compose an OveReview for that item.

Categories
Each of the iRatings are divided into categories. Categories which vary depending on the type of the item being iRated. The following explains each of these individual categories.
    For musical works/soundtracks:
  • Orchestration refers to the manner, quality, and style the musical pieces are arranged and orchestrated.
  • Lead Vocals refers to the manner, quality, and style of the lead voices, or lead characters, in the referenced work.
  • Ensemble refers to the manner, quality, and style of the supporting voices, or supporting characters, in the referenced work.
  • Overall refers to the altogether work or performance. This is a comparison to the other musicals or shows, and is not necessarily an average of the past three categories.
    For films/renditions in acting:
  • Orchestration refers to the manner, quality, and style in which the musical pieces have been arranged and orchestrated in the particular film/rendition.
  • Lead Vocals/Actors refers to the manner, quality, and style in which the main characters in such referenced plot portray and perform the story, including acting itself and singing.
  • Supporting Vocals/Actors refers to the manner, quality, and style in which the supporting characters/actors in such referenced plot portray and perform the story, including acting itself and singing. As well, to the interaction amongst the main characters themselves.
  • Overall refers to the altogether work or performance. This is a comparison to the other musicals or shows, and is not necessarily an average of the past three categories.

OveReviews Xplained

OveReviews Defined
OveReview is, at the same time, an overview and a review of a particular item(i.e. film, soundtrack, book). An OveReview overviews something in detail, pointing out particular and exclusive things about such item. As well, it is reviewed as needed. However, the review factor isn't overdone, or excessively used.

eMusicals Pick Xplained   eMusicals Pick

"eMusicals Pick" Defined
The label "eMusicals Pick" denotes that a particular item proves superior, usually correlating with iRatings, to other items in the same show or category. This label, nonetheless, must be earned. For instance, the existance of solely one item in a given category, does not guarantee that the item will earn an "eMusicals Pick" label.
